The situation

Paxton Computers is nationally recognised for providing professional and quality accounting software to public, private and non-profit sectors. With clients such as The British Army and Royal Marines, Paxton stands out from the crowd and is one of the few software companies in the UK that develops, markets and supports its own fully featured accounting software.

Paxton was already deploying its software through the cloud when they approached virtualDCS. “We initially contacted the team as we were having problems with our previous vendor. As SaaS is a prime route to market for us, it was vital that we partner with a cloud provider that could supply us with the service level needed to run effectively.

We were having some issues with reliability, so we set out looking for a partner that could offer a UK based support team, high availability and experienced staff that we could quickly contact.

During this concept period, the work went so well that Paxton started to migrate both its software and its customers over to the platform. To date, the company now has over 150 customers accessing software on the virtualDCS platform.

“The trial period was a great way for the business to initially work with virtualDCS and to see if the support team met the high standards we had in mind. 

Not only is the support team fantastic, but in terms of transferring files, the platform indeed performs better than we ever thought it would. I’m really pleased we made the decision to host our software with virtualDCS.

Looking back, I wouldn’t do anything differently, and I would recommend the team to all developers in the same position that we were”, said Gareth.
