Yesterday Tesco confirmed that its broadband service was suffering outages across the UK. Tesco broadband customers have flooded social media channels with complaints.
The organisation supplies a broadband connection to around 75,000 customers, with around 10,000 of these being inconvenienced by the outage, all over the country. The company is in the process of selling the business to rival Talk Talk this year.
A spokesperson commented that “some customers are experiencing network problems. This is not related to the migration of customers to TalkTalk”
“We are liaising with our network partner [Vodafone] to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible and apologise to any customers affected for the inconvenience.”
Tesco released a statement yesterday evening apologising to customers, claiming that the issue had been officially resolved.
“We apologise to any customers who have experienced problems with their broadband service today. Your services should now be restored. If you are still having any issues, please contact us via any of our customer support channels.”
For businesses relying on Tesco broadband for internet services, it brings to light the importance of having a business continuity solution in place.
