Cloud Computing predictions for 2015
As 2014 has come to an end and we all embrace the New Year, we naturally see business leaders putting forth cloud computing predictions for 2015.
We’ve condensed the top three predictions, for your ease of reading!
SaaS will soar
Hundreds of people are using software as a service on a daily basis, without even realising it! In today’s world, we are filled with the need to consistently work on the move and software as a service helps us to do this… so why would it not grow? Did you know that email services such as Hotmail and social media platforms such as Facebook are all presented through Software as a Service?
BYOD will grow
Similarly, with the need to be always available, BYOD (bring your own device) will continue to grow at a rapid rate and employees will increasingly work on their own devices. Consequently, businesses will reduce the cost of purchasing equipment for employees – but information that these employees can access and take out of the work premises must be closely monitored.
The feature war
As competition heats up on the market, Cloud providers need to find a new way to differentiate themselves from competition. Many will cut prices, but we encourage our customers to remember that cheaper doesn’t always equal quality! If you buy cheap, you almost certainly have to buy twice. We predict that features and customer service will actually be the new competitive angle for cloud companies. There is only so many times that providers can cut costs, without cutting quality.
