What is Cloud Computing? – Part 1

The term ‘Cloud Computing’ is used to describe I.T services delivered through the Internet and the new “as a Service culture”.
The cloud includes services such as:
  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS)
  • Recovery as a Service (RaaS)
  • Software as a Service (SaaS)

Cloud Computing is also associated with terms such as virtualisation, Private Clouds, Hybrid Clouds and Public Clouds. There is a lot of mysticism about the Cloud and what it is.

In the presentation below, using real world examples we will unravel Cloud services and their advantages over traditional approaches to I.T, discussing the relationship between the Cloud and Virtualisation, and explaining how easy it is to migrate to Cloud services and things you need to watch out for.
