Microsoft Service Provider Licensing
What is SPLA and how does it work?
The Services Provider License Agreement – SPLA enables service providers and ISVs with a hosted offering to license Microsoft products on a monthly basis.
This is in order to provide services and hosted applications to their end customers. Renting, leasing, or lending the Software (including providing commercial hosting services) is also prohibited.

SPLA licencing can provide many opportunities:
- Remove Capex for Microsoft products
- Remove the cost of server licensing enabling you to just pay for users (Your exchange server licence could be as little as £24 a year)
- If you stop using a package or reduce your users you can reduce your bill
- You can always use the latest version of the software
